Summer 2017 Volunteer Opportunities
6 to 12 year olds:
An ART program
a LEGO program
What do I know about art? Not much. I've picked out a bunch of fun looking activities off Pinterest and ordered the materials. My current teen volunteer is working through the prototypes with me. But I will need a couple teen volunteers in the room to help with set up and clean up, and most importantly, to lend their enthusiasm to projects. Just by participating, by gluing and painting and crayon melting along with us, you'll help bring up the bar.
As for Legos:
I'm planning a series of Lego challenges. Which will include making ramps for Lego vehicles, making Lego marble runs, making Lego catapults, and a Lego zipline. What do I know about Legos? I know I have four boxes of them in the backroom and I really really like the Star Wars minfigs, but that's about it. So I'm pretty desperate for some teens to do prototypes, help the kids, and break them down afterwards.
So, yes, you can earn volunteer hours by painting seashells and playing with Legos!!! And I reward volunteers with chocolate as well!
